
Why such a quiet Recording sound from an external Microphone in my computer?
I have an AKG D88 S mic that I just bought. I plugged it into my computer via a 3-prong>1/4 jack cord. When I record in Audacity, I get some static, and just a very faint sound, even when I yell into it. Am I doing something wrong?
I'm just getting into recording things. Should I try something different?
Microphones require microphone amps in order to work properly. If you're getting a low tone, it means your computer's sound card doesn't have a preamp build strong enough for your microphone.
